- In those times marriage was a practical business, so Lucy, being poor, was right to try to find the richest husband she could.
- Willoughby was not completely to blame for Marianne's broken heart. She should have been more cautious about allowing herself to fall in love with him.
- Edward should have been open about his feelings for Elinor, and broken his engagement to Lucy.
- Elinor knew that Lucy saw her as a rival, not as a friend, so there was no need for Elinor to keep Lucy's secret.
-Willoughby was not completely to blame for Marianne's broken heart. She should have been more cautious about allowing herself to fall in love with him.
ReplyDelete-In my opinion, each person should be more careful with your feelings, and try to not show that you feel, because the other person can profiteer, and if you want to fall in love with someone, you should be secure that be the correct person and try to do all with calm, and be realistic because nothing is perfect and nothing is eternal

I agree with you Jocelyne. He was not completely to blame for Marianne's broken heart, but remember that we don't choose who to fall in love with. That's something we can't control because it's like a feeling that suddenly appears. It's true that we should not show our feelings to everybody because they can take advantage of it and try to find a way to break our heart. Maybe Marianne should not have shown her feelings to Willoghby but if he understood what were her feelings, he should have told her what was his real intention. In conclusion, both acted incorrectly and we must take this movie as an example that love is not always what we want.

I have to disagree with you guys. I think only Willoughby acted improperly because although he loved Marianne, he married another woman whom he didn't even love. He shouldn't have made her think that he also loved her if he wasn't going to love her back. It's true that you must be careful with your feelings, and maybe not be as expressive as Marianne; but it is also true that feelings were made to be expressed. Sometimes, we lose other people because we hide our true feelings. There must be a balance.
DeleteI agree with you miguel becouse Willoughby didn`t think in his wife, he thougth that his heart was open for all times and did`t think the feelings To other persona in this case in Marianne feelings and he broke her heart. But, i think that Jocelyne has a reason wiht the peaple should be carfuly when they expres rhe feelings to the other person because sometimes broke the heart.

I agree with you Mister Jose Miguel. You are completely right saying that we lose other people because we hide our feelings, but it's also true that if we express our feelings, he or she will go away if he or she doesn't feel the same. That's why we must be cautious because we don't want to lose our friend even we are in love with him or her. Sometimes we should wait for a response to our signs of love. Sometimes we should fight for that person who changes our world with everything he or she does. However, we can't know what will be better. We should follow our instinct but thinking with our heart and also with our brain.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, when one want to someone should fight with all your force and know if it is mutual to the other person and also one should be convince with your feelings.

- IN THOSE TIMES MARRIAGE WAS A PRACTICAL BUSINESS, SO LUCY, BEING POOR, WAS RIGHT TO TRY TO FIND THE RICHEST HUSBAND SHE COULD.
ReplyDeleteIN MY OPINION, I THINK IN THOSE TIMES MARRIAGE WASN'T A PRACTICAL BUSINESS BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE FELL IN LOVE AND THEY WANTED TO MARRY TO GET THEIR LIFE TOGETHER FOR LIVE. FALLING IN LOVE WAS EASSY AND MARRYING WITHOUT THINKING WELL WAS THE MISTAKE IN SOME BROKEN HEART. ON THE OTHER HAND, LUCY WAS AN AVARICIOUS GIRL WHO WANTED MONEY ONLY. FOR THAT REASON THOSE TIMES WERE THOUGHT THAT MARRIAGE WAS A PRACTICAL BUSINESS. I THINK LUCY WAS REGRETFUL MANY YEARS AFTER BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T LOVE HIM.

-Willoughby was not completely to blame for Marianne's broken heart. She should have been more cautious about allowing herself to fall in love with him. In my opinion, Marianne was so silly at the time to fall in love with an unknown man. She should have met well before to fall in love, Willoughby just wanted to seduce marianne for a little time. i think the fault was of marianne.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous, I guess you are right when you say that he was practically a stranger. You cannot love a person in a short period of time, so yes, she should have been more cautious.
DeleteWilloughby was not completely to blame for Marianne's broken heart. She should have more careful when she falling in love with him. If she had known better Willoughby, I think that would not have happened that. Also, she was very emotional and she got carried for her feelings which she didn't care anything and that didn't let to see her what he was. But Willoughby have a great blame because he was not sincere and he planned to defraud at the Marianne's Family. In conclusion, both are blame, Marianne was sensibility and Willoughby was liar.

ReplyDeleteIn my opion edward was undecided about what he want, but when he knew that he love Elinor he did not think about lucy because she fall in love with him and when he said that he love elinor, lucy was broken because the person that she loves, did not love her .

Edward should have been open about his feelings for Elinor, and broken his engagement to Lucy. I agree wih that, he didn't know what he wanted, taking a decision in most of the time is difficult, even more when we was talking about love. He loved lucy but sometimes a person could loved two people at the same time, one person more than another. When you fall in love anything can happen, you don't know when or how.

I'm not sure how it can be possible to fall in love with two people at the same time.
DeleteI agree with you, teacher because it's true when you fall in love you only think about one person and she or he is your world. I think that nobody can say that he/she love two people with all his/her soul at the same time if somebody say that this person is a liar. When you are in love you have to bring your heart for that person.

Willoughby was not completely to blame for Marianne's broken heart. She should have been more cautious about allowing herself to fall in love with him. I think that Willoughby shouldn’t be blame at all because he did nothing wrong. He just was trying to talk to her but she got too much in to him. However he had other things to do and need it the money so he had to get a richer girl.

ReplyDeleteWhen you think that somebody is the perfect man or woman for you, many times that person dissapointed and fail you. This cause a sadness in your inside, so that, only remains cry and cry and think that life is cruel. Moreover, the guilt don't have the man or woman, the guilt is yours because always when you fall in love, you should be safe whether you love his/hers. You should have a strong feelings, be very careful with theirs and above all you should be very safe to choose the correct person. I think that this happened with Marianna, she should have known who was really Willoughby.

I guess you are right. Everyone is responsible for their own feelings.
DeleteIt was no fault of Willoughby for Marianne fell for it. Willoughby wanted money so I could not fall in love with Marianne, because he was already committed to another person who had a lot of money. In conclusion people should not be compromised with other that may come to love.
