Everybody Hurts

Hey guys! After reading our first text, we discussed the main idea and the message of it. Here I found a classic: REM's Everybody Hurts. I want you to watch it, understand the lyrics and tell me your opinion about it: What is it about? What's the message of this song? What's the relation between the reading passage and this song?     We are never alone. The main idea about the video is that in our lives, we never are alone, maybe we feel that we are alone in this world but it isn't true... Maybe we are alone here in the earth, but spiritually we are never alone, we are with God, He fills your live, He makes you stronger than other people, He makes you feel happy, He loves you even before you born. The conclusion compared with the reading passage is that they lost a dear person but it isn't make the family get down, they aren't been depressed about it so they decided to continue their lifes because they known that there will be better days later...In conlusion the best way that we can survive nowadays is living the present and not the past or future, we must have God in our hearts for helping us, because he will makes you stronger and the most important... happy.

      I agee with you Jonathan. The most important thing is to live the moment becuase "today" is a gift, for this reason is called "present". So, in the bad moments we should hold on and have faith that God will give us the necessary strength to win any battle. We only should search that light that is always in front of us. :)

    Hold on!

    It was one of the prhases shown on this lyric that cuaght my attention. This song says that we do not have to throw our hand. We have to believe and to have faith that the calm will return. The live is constantly hurting us but it is our choice to raise the head and to continue. We are not alone, we have family and friends that could help us on the bad momnets. Also, there are other people that is suffering worst things than us (such as the message of "Purpose in Pain")so we don not have to think that "ALL" is against us and that we don not have a way out. This song caused me a big impact becuase sometimes I get a negative attitude and think that there is no solution for my problems. But thanks to these two words (HOLD ON) I understood that the things happend when we need it and not when we want it.

      I AGREE WITH YOUR OPINION. YOU ARE RIGHT AND I WANT TO ADD MY OPINION.
      WELL, WE ALL KNOW SOMEBODY HURTS... FOR THAT REASON WE HAVE TO BE CAUTIOUS WHEN WE DO OR TALK THINGS WITH SOMEONE... WE ALWAYS HAVE TO DO OUR BEST DURING OUR PRESENT TO NEVER REGRET ANYTHING. IF WE MAKE MISTAKES, WE DONT HAVE TO ENCLOSE IN A BUBBLE... WE HAVE TO FORGIVE PROBLEMS EVEN IF THOSE ARE THE WORST, KNOWING SOMEDAY WE WILL HURT PEOPLE AND WE WILL WANT SOMEONE TO FORGIVE US. EVERYBODY HAVE TO FIND THE SOLUTIONS TO OUR PROBLMES CAUSED BY THE PEOPLE WHO WE LOVE.

      Well hi Daniela and Fabian I’m Johan. I personally disagree with you guys. We can’t ever stay quite because we always have to say how we feel. However we have to say it with respect. For example if Fabian says something or does something I don’t like or insults me, I have to tell him that I don’t like It but I have to do it with respect. If he gets hurt well that’s not my problem, but I know I didn’t stay quiet and I sprees myself. So the prime thing here is to never stay quiet sprees our self but always do it with respect. Also it is true we are never alone we will always have someone who we could trust, family, or even God.

      Johan, really excuse me, but I don't have any idea of what you are talking about. First I never said that we have to stay quite. i don't know in which part of my paragraph it says that. Secondly, I want to tell you that in my opinion your paragraph is good. But I think it needs some more details. It's only an advise. If you want, try to take it in account for your next comments.

      Fabian, I believe you have made a very wise remark: "WE HAVE TO BE CAUTIOUS WHEN WE DO OR TALK THINGS WITH SOMEONE". You are right there! Words can be very powerful. They have either positive or negative effects on people; therefore, we must be careful when saying something. It is true that we have the right to express our opinion; however, before saying something, we must always imagine how we would feel if we were told the words we are planning to say.

    For me this song try to tell us about the life, about that when we feel alone or when we feel that nobody never can understand us, it is wrong because everybody cries, everybody feel alone, or sometime we forget that we are human and have feelings and that is normal cry, or have a bad day, but although we have a bad day or dificult situations,we must be strong and hold on about that we want and keep fighting for that .

    This song give a lot of hope to one .When one is bad we should remember that have family, friends and in special to God .we think that the things succeed is for give teachings in our life and correct our mistakes .we have differents situations in the life and should hold the calm and have a lot of faith and trust.

    I think that it is about staying strong in front of any kind of situation. In my opinion the message of this song is that we must be prepared for this situation because as it says, everybody hurts. Maybe a person we love can hurt us and if we are not ready for it, we will take bad decisions. We must keep in mind that we will always have our friends, family and God that will help us any time we need them. Sometimes we thing that everybody and everything is against us, but that's not true. Probably, we will have a lot of bad times in our life but the number of good times will be higher. As we read in the passage "A purpose in pain", there are people that are living situations even more difficult than ours, so we must be grateful and try to overcome this problems. We should learn from them and if a person have failed us, we can't trust him or her anymore, that's why I count my friends just using my fingers. We have to show strength and remember that we are never alone.

      I agree with you, Juan. A common mistake people make is to think that everything is against them, they believe it's the world vs. them. I believe in the power of our minds. Good things will happen to us if we think positively

    In my opinion, the song is about that many people We consider to fail us and We were disappointed, so that we cry and feel like alone but many times we don't consider we have a God in our side that he is here to help us to hand provide us with any problems we have to overcome it and look forward with positive things without fall in the sadness.
    That song called "Everybody Hurts" because of nowadays we live in a world full of hypocrisies and bad friendship that they hurt us and forces us to live a world of disappointments and feel we are alone and don't have anybody.

    I think this song wants to teach us that everybody has problems but we have friends and they are the reason of our lives because friends are always the people that help us with our problems even if they are too big and bad. We just need to have hope and think that everything becomes better. We just need trust in our friends.

    This song is about that people have difficulties and sometimes we feel alone, but we are never alone and we shouldn't give up. I agree with this song. We aren't alone, we have friends, family and especially God. The problems are very common in our life and we have to fight and overcome the problems. The relation between the song and the reading (A PURPOSE IN PAIN) is that Mr. and Mrs. Krebs didn't see the limitation that their son have and they dedided to fight for the welfare of their son. Maybe, they had to support many problems, but they HELD ON the difficulties. Maybe, many people are living difficulties situation or they think that everything is against them or they are alone, but they have to fight, hold on and overcome these problems. Futhermore, they have to remember that they aren't alone and they have the help of God, friends, family. In conclusion, they have to be patient and trust that everything will be well.
